Beautiful Day weekend is when we take Church outside its walls and serve the needs of our city in the name of Jesus with no strings attached.
The weekend takes place the second weekend of October each year at a number of different project sites.

Hour of Prayer
On Sunday, October 11th, during Beautiful Day, we are inviting you to set aside one hour to pray for our city. Join us from 8–9 AM or 1–2 PM on Zoom as we lift up our projects, volunteers, recipients, and the renewal of Silicon Valley.

Be a part of the team that helps make Beautiful Day happen! You’ll be helping distribute and put away the tools supplies used by over a thousand volunteers over Beautiful Day weekend. Bring your energy, patience, and a joyful heart to have some fun as we work behind the scenes to bless our neighbors.

Bagby Elementary School Refresh
Bagby Elementary School is a Cambrian District public school that services approximately 500 students from TK through 5th grade in San Jose. This year, help us show love to the school's community of students and faculty members by refreshing the office building and beautifying the garden area.

Ages: 5+
Calabazas Park Beautification
Calabazas Park is maintained by the City of San Jose that offers a wide selection of recreational activities such as a BMX track, basketball court, sand volleyball court, softball field, horseshoe pits, tennis courts. This neighborhood park creates a warm and safe environment for members of the community to gather. This project will involve re-landscaping designated areas throughout the park and refreshing the horseshoe pits.

Canyon Creek Park Revitalization
Canyon Creek Park is an important space that helps people connect with nature, spend time outdoors, and facilitate community building. By joining this project, you can help preserve and enhance the park—and bless the community that uses this space—through mulching, repainting fencing, and refreshing the pergola area.

Good Karma Bikes Storage Facility Upgrade
Good Karma Bikes is a nonprofit second-hand bike shop that provides safe and reliable bike transportation for youth, low-income families, people experiencing homelessness, those in recovery and refugees. Join us to transform Good Karma Bikes storage facility from a high-density "lean-to" storage environment into an organized, accessible, and efficient inventory system that will better serve the community. Through this project, we hope to improve volunteer safety, speed up the repair pipeline, and revitalize the surrounding outdoor workspace.

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo Revitalization
Since opening its doors in 1961, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo has been dedicated to connecting generations of visitors young and old to nature and wildlife through play. This zoo and amusement park falls under a division of the City of San Jose, Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services Department and prioritizes the promotion of sustainability and protection of wildlife and natural habitats. Through this project, you can help revitalize and re-landscape Monarch Meadows, an area near the entrance of the park.

Hope Horizons EPA Landscaping
Hope Horizon EPA is a community youth development organization that equips youth in East Palo Alto to grow spiritually, gain life skills, and develop as leaders. They provide mentorship, academic support, and spiritual formation. As a volunteer, you can help us improve gathering spaces for students and staff. This year, we will be upgrading and re-landscaping the outdoor recreational areas and meeting spaces so that students can exercise, have fun, and flourish.

IJM/ Love Never Fails Training, Advocacy, and Toiletry Kit Packing
International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organization that protects people in poverty from violence by working to rescue and restore victims, hold perpetrators accountable, strengthen public justice systems and scale the demand for sustainable protection. Love Never Fails is dedicated to restoring, educating, and protecting survivors of human trafficking and their community. The nonprofit provides critical services such as safe housing, education, and access to sustainable careers. At this family-friendly event, you will learn more about the history and context of human trafficking along with what is being done to combat it, write encouraging notes to survivors and letters to members of Congress on pending legislation, and assemble toiletry kits for local street outreaches.

Kids Around the World is a faith-based nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for kids in some of the world's most vulnerable communities to experience hope and transformation. Join us by packing nutritious meal kits that will be distributed overseas to the communities served by Kids Around the World.

Reentry Resource Center Beautification
The Reentry Resource Center provides services and support to help currently and formerly incarcerated Santa Clara County residents create happy, healthy, and productive lives and to successfully re-establish themselves in the community. Come support this critical work by repairing the main courtyard and building new picnic tables for the San Jose facilities.

San Jose Police Department Community Offices Refresh
This Beautiful Day, join us as we roll up our sleeves and make some large upgrades to the San Jose Police Department Community Offices. This work will involve a variety of renovation projects in main common spaces, offices, conference rooms, kitchen, and bathroom areas. Help us to transform the facility into a welcoming, safe space that will bless both staff and community members.

The Dance
Every year, on Beautiful Day weekend, our Saratoga Campus is transformed into a magical place where friends with special needs can experience a prom-like wonderland full of fun, food and dancing while their parents and caretakers join in fellowship and respite with one another. We need volunteers to help us create, set-up, and tear-down decorations, be buddies, and handle the large variety of tasks that helps the annual Dance go off without a hitch! The shifts before the dance are suitable for volunteers who are at least 5 years old. During the dance, all volunteers should be at least 18 years old.

West Valley Neighborhood Church
Located in Cupertino, West Valley Neighborhood Church strives to engage in its neighborhood as a faithful presence and reunite Silicon Valley with God's design for redemptive flourishing. Join us this year as we partner together with West Valley Neighborhood Church to revitalize its campus through exterior painting and other upgrades and create a beautiful gathering space for fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Young Life Capernaum is a non-profit Christian ministry devoted to serving the needs of youth with disabilities. Capernaum creates spaces where teens and young adults with and without disabilities can meet Jesus and grow in their faith.

Beautiful Day 2026 Legacy Project
Martha's Kitchen prepares and distributes nutritious meals with dignity to people in need by mobilizing volunteers and rescued food, ensuring no one is left behind. This year, Martha's Kitchen has been selected as a Beautiful Day Legacy Project which will be carried out over multiple weekends and shifts leading up to Beautiful Day weekend. During these shifts, you will support Martha's Kitchen by beautifying its San Jose campus through landscaping, planting, mulching, and exterior painting.

Celebration Dinner – Serve Team
Join us on October 19th and help us celebrate all the amazing volunteers, leaders, recipients, and projects from Beautiful Day weekend. We will have a great family dinner at our Saratoga Campus filled with good food and fun. We'll decorate, host, and serve over [300] guests as we honor the work God has done this year through Beautiful Day.
