Calabazas Park is maintained by the City of San Jose that offers a wide selection of recreational activities such as a BMX track, basketball court, sand volleyball court, softball field, horseshoe pits, tennis courts. This neighborhood park creates a warm and safe environment for members of the community to gather. This project will involve re-landscaping designated areas throughout the park and refreshing the horseshoe pits.

Martha's Kitchen prepares and distributes nutritious meals with dignity to people in need by mobilizing volunteers and rescued food, ensuring no one is left behind. This year, Martha's Kitchen has been selected as a Beautiful Day Legacy Project which will be carried out over multiple weekends and shifts leading up to Beautiful Day weekend. During these shifts, you will support Martha's Kitchen by beautifying its San Jose campus through landscaping, planting, mulching, and exterior painting.

This project focuses on revitalizing the student quad and surrounding landscape at August Boeger Middle School—a space where students gather for breaks, lunch, and rally meetings. It’s the central, most used part of the campus. August Boeger Middle School serves a diverse student population, with approximately 75% of students coming from economically disadvantaged households. As a volunteer, you’ll help refresh the area through landscaping, painting and beautification efforts, creating a welcoming environment that encourages pride and positivity for students and staff. Join us as we partner with the school administration and families to transform their daily space into something beautiful and life-giving.

Recovery Café San Jose is a healing community for people overcoming homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges. It’s a sacred space where members find hope, purpose, and belonging through community and recovery programs like AA. Volunteers will help with deep cleaning: washing walls and floors; organizing an art room; assembling two shelving units; prepping meals to be frozen, and a bathroom renovation to refresh this campus. Your work will help create a clean, welcoming environment that reflects the dignity and value of every person who walks through the doors. Join us in supporting recovery through service.

Hilltop Manor is a senior housing community in San Jose that provides affordable living for older adults, many of whom are on fixed incomes. Over time, the property has weathered and needs care to maintain a safe and beautiful space for its residents. As a volunteer, you’ll help with fence repairs, power washing, painting, and spreading mulch—simple but meaningful acts that renew dignity and show love to our elders. Come serve with joy as we create a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful environment for those who’ve paved the way for us.
