BD Weekends 2025
Be a part of the team that helps make Beautiful Day happen! You’ll be helping distribute and put away the tools supplies used by over a thousand volunteers over Beautiful Day weekend. Bring your energy, patience, and a joyful heart to have some fun as we work behind the scenes to bless our neighbors.
If you know a family member, friend, or neighbor who has faced Alzheimer’s or dementia — or if you simply care about supporting the people and families who are living through it — this is a project for you. By serving, you’ll not only encourage thousands of walkers who are raising awareness and funds for the cause, but you’ll also have the opportunity to connect with other WestGate families who care deeply about making a difference.
CityTeam serves men experiencing homelessness, addiction, and poverty—offering hope, recovery, and restoration through Christ-centered care. Their San Jose campus is a place of healing, and this project will help them continue their mission with dignity. Volunteers will support with landscaping, painting, minor renovations, and courtyard enhancements. Your work
will help create a more welcoming and dignified space for the men who are in their recovery journey.

Established in 1852, Almaden Winery was California's oldest winery and now serves as a cherished public park in San Jose. As a volunteer, you'll engage in landscaping, litter removal, and general beautification, which will benefit the neighborhood and our city. Join us as we partner with the community to preserve the beauty and historical essence of this public space in the Almaden area.

This project focuses on revitalizing the student quad and surrounding landscape at August Boeger Middle School—a space where students gather for breaks, lunch, and rally meetings. It’s the central, most used part of the campus. August Boeger Middle School serves a diverse student population, with approximately 75% of students coming from economically disadvantaged households. As a volunteer, you’ll help refresh the area through landscaping, painting and beautification efforts, creating a welcoming environment that encourages pride and positivity for students and staff. Join us as we partner with the school administration and families to transform their daily space into something beautiful and life-giving.

Baker Elementary is a Title 1 school in Moreland School District serving a community of students, many from low-income families. The school garden offers a space for outdoor learning, creativity, and connection —but it needs some love. As a volunteer, you’ll help clean up the garden, create a granite pathway, and haul in rock, gravel, and tan-bark to transform it into a welcoming and inspiring environment. This is a hands-on way to bless students, support their learning, and reflect God’s love through the care we provide, along with the school administration and families.

‘The Dance’ is a joyful evening created especially for our friends with special needs—a celebration filled with dinner, music, dance and fun. It's a night to honor, uplift, and affirm each guest as a beloved child of God. Volunteers will serve as hosts, companions, and cheerleaders—helping with setup, food service, dancing, and ensuring every guest feels seen, celebrated, and safe. Come be part of an evening that reflects the heart of Jesus through radical hospitality and pure joy.

Single parents are the real MVP’s! They carry an incredible load—nurturing, providing, and leading their families often without much support. This event is our way of honoring them with love, dignity, encouragement so that they know they are not alone. Volunteers will help host a beautiful afternoon of lunch at WestGate South Hills campus, entertainment, and practical resources for single parents and their children. It’s a celebration of strength and resilience, and a powerful opportunity to reflect Jesus’ care for those walking a challenging road. Come serve and help make this day unforgettable.

Saratoga Creek Park is a beloved green space in the community, offering families, individuals, and pet owners a place to relax and connect with nature. However, parts of the park are underused and in need of care. This project focuses on landscaping and creating a welcoming entrance to the dog park—improving access and enhancing the overall park experience. Join us as we collaborate with Parks and Rec department and community members who will help restore beauty, encourage community use, and accessible public space for all.

Recovery Café San Jose is a healing community for people overcoming homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges. It’s a sacred space where members find hope, purpose, and belonging through community and recovery programs like AA. Volunteers will help with deep cleaning: washing walls and floors; organizing an art room; assembling two shelving units; prepping meals to be frozen, and a bathroom renovation to refresh this campus. Your work will help create a clean, welcoming environment that reflects the dignity and value of every person who walks through the doors. Join us in supporting recovery through service.
